Carl Connection: Music Data Curation Intern

This opportunity is brought to you by a Carleton alumnus, MacEagon 'Keagon' Voyce ’12. You are welcome to reach out to Keagon at maceagon@greymatter.fm with any questions about the organization or position prior to applying.

Grey Matter is a community for sharing and discovering music, together.

It’s a social network for music where:

  • music can be played and shared from wherever you stream
  • moments of discovery form the building blocks for community and meaningful artist connections

Our mission is to connect people through music and build enduring value for those who make it. (More information in our website FAQ).

We’re seeking a music data curation intern who can help build an interactive map/graph of the music connections made across our ecosystem. It will be:

  • a public good
  • a potent source of music discovery
  • authentic, non-algorithmic exposure for every artist mentioned
  • a foundation to build more value and closer connection

It’s an archival project rooted in ‘proof of connection’ – enduring evidence that these connections exist. More here.

Our ideal candidate is a curious, reliable self-starter who cares about music and has a flair for the technical. You might be considering a career in UX design, data operations, or something similar.
