LiveMore ScreenLess is a Minnesota nonprofit organization based in Minneapolis. LiveMore ScreenLess uses best practices from education, public health, and positive youth development to engage with young people, families, schools, and organizations to promote balanced and intentional use of technology.

Digital Wellbeing Youth Engagement Internship
Students looking for real-world health promotion experience that supports the wellbeing of young people are encouraged to apply for the Digital Wellbeing Youth Engagement Intern. This internship will provide the opportunity to test and refine LiveMore ScreenLess’s youth engagements and Peer Education and Leadership activities and curriculum by working directly with young people in the state of Minnesota and with LiveMore ScreenLess’s Youth Council. This intern position will also provide the opportunity for research and refinement of resources targeting Young People on our redesigned website. The college student selected for this opportunity will bring a valuable lens and perspective into our peer education activities, especially to our public facing communication channels such as our website. Commitment to health equity is required.
Responsibilities
The Digital Wellbeing Youth Engagement Intern will
- Support the LiveMore ScreenLess Team (Youth Engagement Director, Administrative Coordinator and Co-Executive Directors)
- In partnership with the engagement team, Facilitate youth engagements, listening sessions and Peer Education and Leadership Curriculum (training would be provided)
- Coordinate activities of Peer Education Strategy
- Identify potential school-based or out of school time customers
- Assist with the creation of health promotional materials
- Create a YPAR (Youth Participation Action Resource Project) on Digital Wellbeing for publication on Resource Library/Website.
Qualifications
- Experience working with young people
- Experience with peer facilitation/leadership/coaching/teaching preferred
- Passion for youth development, health promotion, and wellbeing for self and others
- Coursework in at least one area: psychology, sociology & anthropology, English, neuroscience, cognitive science, digital arts and humanities, public policy or educational studies
- Prior writing experience and a willingness to learn about strategic communications and social media desired
This is a summer 2023 internship. Start and end times are negotiable. This internship can be a hybrid remote and in-person work. 30 hours a week.
